A former Union Pacific Railroad Company employee claims in a lawsuit against the company his spine was injured while he was working for the railroad.
Henry Washington claims his spine was injured on Feb. 10 while he was working as a maintenance of way employee near Houston.
Because of his injury, Washington suffered great physical and mental pain and anguish, lost earnings and experienced physical impairment, according to the complaint filed Feb. 9 in Jefferson County District Court.
He also incurred medical expenses and suffered disfigurement, the suit states.
Union Pacific was negligent by assigning Washington work beyond his physical capabilities, by failing to provide adequate manpower to perform the job and by failing to provide adequate supervision for the job, Washington claims.
Washington is seeking actual damages, plus post-judgment interest, costs and other relief to which he is entitled.
