Plaintiff Chrimar Systems Inc., doing business as CMS Technologies Inc., claims to own the rights to U.S. Patent No. 7,457,250.
The '250 Patent was issued Nov. 25, 2008, for a System for Communication with Electronic Equipment.
CMS alleges that Danpex has infringed the '250 Patent.
"As a result of defendant's conduct, plaintiff has been seriously and irreparably damaged," the original complaint states.
CMS is seeking injunctive relief, compensatory damages, interest, treble damages and attorneys' fees.
Melissa Smith of Gillam & Smith LLP in Marshall is lead attorney for the plaintiff. Richard Hoffman of Reising Ethington PC in Troy, Mich., is of counsel.
The case was assigned to U.S. District Judge T. John Ward and referred to Magistrate Judge Charles Everingham.

According to the original complaint, on Jan. 30, 2001, professor Hannu Heusela filed for a patent application seeking protection for a novel data transmission system. The application was based on an earlier patent application filed in Finland in March 2000.
On Feb. 1, 2005, U.S. Patent No. 6,850,560 was issued and assigned to Finoc Design.
"The '560 Patent is the result of Prof. Heusela's extensive research in the field of xDSL data transmission and discloses an improved system and method for the efficient transmission of digital data over existing telephone lines and the reformatting of xDSL-formatted data at a customer site," the original complaint states.
Plaintiff Finoc alleges that 15 companies infringe the '560 Patent by selling and providing service and support of wireless xDSL products.
The defendant companies are 2Wire Inc., 3Com Corp., Actiontec Electronics Inc., Cisco Systems Inc., Diamond Multimedia Inc., D-Link Systems Inc., Strowger Inc. dba Draytek US, Motorola Inc., Netopia Inc., Netgear Inc., SMC Networs Inc., Trendnet System Inc., Westell Technologies Inc., Zoom Technologies Inc. and Zyxel Communications Inc.
The plaintiff is seeking injunctive relief, compensatory damages, interest and other just and proper relief.

The case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge Leonard E. Davis.
