A Jasper County woman claims a city of Beaumont truck that crashed into her vehicle caused an aggravation to her previously injured left wrist.
Juanita Burdge filed a lawsuit Nov. 4 in Jefferson County District Court against the city of Beaumont.
Burdge claims a Beaumont truck with a flat bed trailer attached was stopped in the lane next to her at the intersection of Washington and IH 10 on Nov. 7, 2007.
"As both vehicles began to make a left-hand turn at the intersection, the City of Beaumont truck and trailer, failed to stay in its lane and struck Plaintiff's vehicle," the suit states.
Because of the accident, Burdge experienced pain and limited motion in her left wrist, which was already injured. In addition, she experienced pain in her neck and left shoulder and mental suffering, incurred medical costs and experienced physical impairment and physical disfigurement, the complaint says.
Burdge is seeking an unspecified judgment, plus costs, pre-judgment interest and other relief the court deems just.
Christopher S. Smith of Bush Lewis in Orange will be representing her.
The case has been assigned to Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court.
Jefferson County District Court case number: E185-269.
