Slip-and-fall suit filed against Cheddars

Alleging she slipped and fell upon entering the Beaumont Cheddars, Gloria Wilson filed suit against the restaurant.

The suit was filed Oct. 21 in Jefferson County District Court.

Court papers show that on May 17, 2009, Wilson entered the restaurant and "suffered serious injuries as a result of a dangerous condition that caused (her) to slip and fall."

The suit does not describe the "dangerous condition" which caused her to fall.

Wilson alleges in her suit that Cheddars employees "negligently allowed the floor to become slick" and failed to warn her of the hazard.

Wilson is suing for exemplary damages, plus her alleged past and future mental anguish, medical expenses, pain, lost wages and impairment.

The plaintiff is represented by Provost Umphrey attorney Ryan Schaper.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.

Case No. A188-651
