Man falls while at Motiva, sues

Beaumont resident Wilford Thibodeaux claims he fell while at Motiva Enterprises' Port Arthur refinery.

Thibodeaux filed suit against Motiva and three other companies Jan. 21 in Jefferson County District Court. The other defendants include Jacobs Engineering Group, Bechtel Corp. and Bacon Construction.

According to the plaintiff's petition, Thibodeaux was injured on Jan. 6, 2010. He claims he was an invitee at the defendants' premises at 2555 Savannah Ave. when he fell "due to a dangerous condition."

The suit does not state why Thibodeaux was at the premises or what he was doing when he fell, nor does the suit describe the "dangerous condition."

Thibodeaux alleges the defendants negligently failed to inspect the premises for dangerous conditions and warn him of the danger.

He is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages.

League City attorney Kelly Forester is representing him.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
