Broken water pipe leads to suit against BNSF Railroad

Alleging she slipped on water leaking from a BNSF Railroad pipe, Schlonda Donald has filed suit against the company.

The suit was filed May 13 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on June 20, 2009, Donald, a Renzenberger Inc. employee, slipped and fell because of water leaking from a damaged BNSF pipe. She was in the company's break room at the time of the incident.

The suit alleges BNSF negligently failed to fix the pipe, warn her of the dangers and train its employees.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Houston attorney Vuk Vujasinovic represents the plaintiff.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
