Alleging he was splashed in the face with sulfuric acid, Malcolm Guillory is suing Temple-Inland Inc.
The suit was filed Oct. 10 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on Dec. 5, 2011, the alleged negligence of Temple-Inland caused a valve to break and caused sulfuric acid to splash on Guillory’s face, burning his face, neck, mouth and left ear.
The suit alleges Temple-Inland failed to service and maintain the integrity of the pipe and valve involved in the incident.
“(Temple-Inland) has shown negligent indifference to its legal obligations to protect the health and safety of the plaintiff, their other employees, and other persons on its premises,” the suit states.
The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.
Houston attorney Walter Pink represents him.
Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, is assigned to the case.
