LUFKIN – A worker for the Luper Self Storage facility in Carthage has filed a lawsuit claiming that he was not paid the federal minimum wage and was not paid overtime wages.
Irving Head filed suit against Noel Luper, doing business as Luper Self Storage, on Feb. 8 in the Eastern District of Texas, Lufkin Division.
Head claims that during his employment with the defendant he was not paid minimum wages and he was not paid for hours work in excess of 40 hours per week.
The defendant is accused of violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.
The plaintiff is asking the court for an award of damages for unpaid minimum wages, overtime wages, liquidated damages, attorney fees, court costs and interest.
