Swimming pool installers sued after pool allegedly begins to leak

A man is suing after his pool begins leaking shortly after installation.

Larry Merendino filed a lawsuit in Jefferson County District Court against James Scott Licatino, Pebble Pools LLC, Azteca Gunite Co., 4 C Unlimited LLC, Allstar Plumbing, PC Construction and Urelift Gulf Coas LP, doing business as Uretek ICR Gulf Coast.

According to the complaint, Merendino entered into a contract with the defendants for the construction of a swimming pool and jacuzzi at his home. The complaint states that within months of installation, the pool began losing water and Merendino began to see cracks in the concrete of the pool.

Merendino states that PC Construction was responsible for the concrete work and came to remove some concrete behind the jacuzzi when they allegedly found four PVC joints had never been glued together, causing water to flow from the joints.

Merendino is alleging that the defendants were negligent in their construction of the pool. He is also alleging deceptive trade practices by the defendants.

Merendino is seeking an undisclosed amount of damages.

He is being represented in the case by attorney Lance P Bradley and Craig J. Tahaney II of McPherson, Hughes, Bradley, Wimberley, Steele & Chatelain.

The case has been assigned to Judge Donald Floyd, Jefferson County 172nd Judicial District.
