Beaumont local Jose Zamarripa has filed a slip-and-fall lawsuit against Wal-Mart Stores Texas.
The suit was filed Nov. 14 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on Jan. 18, 2012, Zamarripa was shopping at the Beaumont Wal-Mart when he slipped on a liquid substance that had been spilled on the floor.
The suit accuses Wal-Mart of negligently failing to maintain its premises and warn the plaintiff of the dangerous condition.
The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain and lost wages.
He is represented by Barret Lindsay, attorney for the Beaumont law firm Lindsay, Lindsay & Parsons.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
