American Express sues card member for payment

American Express is suing after a man failed to pay back the balance of cash advances made pursuant to cardmember agreement.

American Express Centurion Bank filed a lawsuit Feb. 12 in the Jefferson County District Court against Forrest Hunter, citing breach of a written contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff and defendant entered into a Cardmember Agreement for an American Express credit card. Under the terms of the agreement, the plaintiff made cash advances to the defendant.

AmEx alleges Hunter has failed to repay for all of the advances made under the agreement, currently owing $4,060, which the plaintiff alleges he continues to fail and refuse to repay, according to the suit.

The plaintiff is seeking $4,060, plus interest and costs.

It is being represented by attorney Donald D. DeGrasse, Kevin T. McGuire and Lori M. Davlin of DeGrasse & Rolnick.
