Jefferson County couple sued by mortgage company for breach of contract

A Jefferson County mortgage company filed an order for foreclosure on a property in the city of Port Arthur. 


LPP Mortgage LTD filed a lawsuit March 5 in the Jefferson County District Court against Robert Lee Thibedeaux, Diane Thibedeaux, citing failure to pay loan.

The plaintiff alleges on July 8, 1998, it entered into an agreement with the Thibedeauxs to provide a loan on a property they wanted to purchase, located at 1545 E. 10th St. in Port Arthur.

The mortgage company alleges the defendants failed to pay the amount due on the loan. According to the suit, as of Dec. 13, the defendants owe $5,424.28.

The plaintiff is seeking foreclosure on the property and other relief agreed on by the court.

The plaintiff is being represented in the case by Houston attorneys Carolyn A. Taylor, Dominique Varner, Kristen Baker and Sarah S. Robbins of Hughes, Watters and Askanase LLP.
