Genesis Marine sued after seaman injured on vessel

A seaman is suing after sustaining injuries while working aboard a vessel.


James Knox filed a lawsuit March 25 in the Galveston County Court against Genesis Marine LLC, citing negligence and gross negligence.

The complaint states Knox was injured on Aug. 20 while he was employed as a seaman by the defendant and was working aboard the Capt. George Brumley.

The plaintiff states he sustained serious injuries when a heavy object dropped on his head and shoulder in the engine room.

Knox is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages, including punitive damages.

He is being represented in the case by attorneys Kurt B. Arnold, Kyle Findley and M. Paul Skrabanek of Arnold & Itkin LLP.
