Plaintiff PanTaurus is Texas limited liability company with its principal office located in Beaumont.

The defendants are accused of infringing U.S. Patent No. 6,272,533 issued for a Secure Computer System and Method of Providing Access to a Computer System Including a Stand Alone Switch Operable to Inhibit Data Corruption on a Storage Device.

According to the suits, the ‘533 Patent is a  “prominent, pioneering patent in the field of computer security,” and has been forward-cited in more than 130 subsequently-issued patents, including patents originally assigned to such “prominent companies” as Intel, Dot Hill Systems, IBM, Nikon, Dell, Seagate, Lenovo, McAfee, Hewlett Packard, Lockheed Martin and STMicroelectronics. The ‘533 Patent is allegedly being infringed by defendants’ manufacture, use or sale of web service cloud-based systems.

The plaintiff is seeking compensatory damages, interest, costs and other relief. A jury trial is requested.

Plaintiff TQP Development filed 19 separate infringement suits on April 23 and 19 more on April 30.

Plaintiff TQP Development is a Texas limited liability company having a principal place of business in Tyler.

The defendants are 8x8 Inc., Allied Electronics Inc., Aliph Inc. dba Jawbone, American Airlines Inc., American Eagle Outfitters Inc., AOL Inc., Barnesandnoble.com LLC, Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., Brooks Brothers Group Inc., Canon USA Inc., Carestream Dental LLC, Chegg Inc., Citrix Systems Inc., Columbia Sportswear USA Corp., eBags Inc., ESET LLC, Estee Lauder Inc., Extreme Networks Inc., Frontier Airlines Holdings Inc., Fujitsu America Inc., Groupon  Inc., Hayneedle Inc., Hilton Worldwide Inc., Hitachi America Ltd., Hobby Lobby Stores Inc., HTC America Inc., IAC/Interactivecorp, InFocus Corp., InterContinental Hotels Corp., J Crew Group Inc., Kaiser Permanente Ventures LLC, LG Electronics USA Inc., LinkedIn Corp., LL Bean Inc., Mad Catz Inc., Marriott International Inc., Netgear Inc. and Nikon Americas Inc.

The defendants are accused of infringing on U.S. Patent No. 5,412,730 issued May 2, 1995, for an Encrypted Data Transmission System Employing Means for Randomly Altering the Encryption Keys.

Defendants allegedly infringe the ‘730 Patent by methods practiced on their websites for transmitting data comprising a sequence of blocks in encrypted form over a communication link.

TQP is seeking a permanent injunction, damages, costs, expenses, interest, attorneys’ fees and other relief to which it may be entitled. A jury trial is requested.

Plaintiff Telinit is a Texas corporation with its principal place of business in Marshall.

The defendants are accused of infringing on U.S. Patent No. 6,192,123 issued Feb. 20, 2001, for a Method and Apparatus for Initiating Telephone Calls Using a Data Network.

According to the suits, the invention claimed in the ‘123 patent includes a system and process for initiating a telephone call using a data network request, that request signaling a switch, and that switch triggering a means of monitoring and providing status updates to a user of the telephone system.

The plaintiff is seeking compensatory damages, a permanent injunction, interest, costs, attorneys’ fees and other just and proper relief.
