A woman has filed suit against the ambulance driver she claims struck her as she was walking on the side of the road.
Crystal Tigner filed suit July 25 in the Jefferson County District Court against Acadian Ambulance Service Inc. and Tiffany Euton.
According to the complaint, Tigner was walking on the shoulder of the 5000 block of Highway 69 in Port Arthur on June 9, when defendant Euton, who was driving an ambulance for defendant Acadian Ambulance Service, struck her.
Because of the incident, Tigner suffered physical pain and mental anguish, endured physical impairment and disfigurement and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint.
She also suffered very painful and disabling injuries that caused her to lose wages, the suit states.
Tigner accuses Euton of negligence, saying she failed to maintain a proper lookout, failed to turn to the right or left to avoid a collision, drove too fast, drove in a reckless manner, failed to obey applicable traffic signals and violated provisions in Texas law.
Tigner is seeking actual, compensatory and exemplary damages, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs, attorneys’ fees and other relief the court deems just.
She is being represented by attorneys Brian Beckcom and Byron C. Alfred of Vujasinovic and Beckcom in Houston.
