Bicyclist blames company, driver for collision

A Galveston County man filed suit against the owner and the operator of a vehicle that allegedly struck him while he was riding a bicycle.

Raymundo Alfaro filed a complaint Sept. 25 in Galveston County District Court against Reagan Francis Leroy and Thurmond Electrical Maintenance Co., citing negligence and liability.

According to the complaint, on April 10, 2013, Leroy was operating a vehicle owned by and on behalf of Thurmond Electrical on Galveston Island. Leroy allegedly struck the plaintiff. The impact of the collision caused the plaintiff to wreck his bicycle and hit the concrete floor, the suit states. According to the complaint, Alfaro now suffers from severe and debilitating injuries to his neck, back, knees and right shoulder.

The plaintiff seeks damages of $110,000 for his injuries.

Alfaro is represented by attorney Jose Luis Orihuela of Orihuela & Associates in League City.
