A Houston County woman sued Wal-Mart Stores Inc.,  alleging discrimination in the loss of her department store job.

Carolyn Ann Biscamp, 67, filed a lawsuit Feb. 5 in the Lufkin Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. of Dallas, alleging unlawful termination from her position due to adult-onset blindness.

Alleging infringement of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Biscamps filed a complaint with the EEOC and the Texas Workforce Commission and received a right to sue letter Nov. 7, 2014, the suit states.

Biscamp seeks back pay and benefits, reinstatement or front pay, compensatory and punitive damages, attorney fees, expenses and costs. She is represented by attorney Alex A. Castetter of Stuckey, Garrigan & Castetter Law Offices in Nacogdoches.
