A Galveston County resident filed a lawsuit against a motorist for alleged vehicular negligence in a 2014 crash that resulted in personal injuries.

Bryan Naghi of Richmond, Texas filed a complaint against Carl Bruce Wright of Texas City in Galveston County District Court on June 18, claiming liability in an April 2014 motor vehicle incident.

According to the suit, Naghi was operating his 2011 Infiniti in the inside lane of FM 1765 in the Galveston area on or about April 6, 2014. The suit states that while the plaintiff was driving within his lane, the defendant’s vehicle made an unsafe turn in front of him, striking his car suddenly and without warning.

The complaint asserts that Wright was negligent in breaching his duty to follow traffic regulations and drive safely. The plaintiff alleges pain, suffering, mental anguish, impairment and discomfort, lost wages and earning capacity, and medical expenses.

Naghi requests the right to amend his petition and seek more or less than $500,000 depending on the outcome of the discovery process; he requests up to $500,000 in compensation for damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney’s fees, expenses, and costs. The plaintiff is represented by Pejman Maadani of Houston.
