Bank wants to seize vehicle

Car impound tow

A bank is filing for the seizure of a vehicle due to an alleged defaulted sales contract.

Regions Bank filed a petition Oct. 14 in Jefferson County District Court against Mary L. Scott and James V. Scott Sr.

According to the complaint, the Scotts have defaulted on a motor vehicle retail installment sales contract simple finance charge executed in Port Arthur and secured by an agreement granting the plaintiff a security interest in a 2009 Ford Super Duty Pickup vehicle. The complaint states the payoff balance as of Sept. 22 was more than $20,000, obligating the defendants to turn over the vehicle but they have refused to do so.

Regions Bank seeks an order of specific performance directing the sheriff to seize the vehicle and deliver it to the plaintiff, in addition to attorney fees and costs of court. The bank is represented by attorney Shawn K. Brady of Brady Law Firm in Frisco.
