A Jasper County company is suing over claims it was fraudulently induced to release a lien.

Streamline Recycling filed a lawsuit Nov. 5 in Jefferson County District Court against Newport Metal Recycling, Proler Steel International, Christopher E. Proler, Shane Leonard and Steven Gabriel.

According to the complaint, Streamline sold its Jefferson County property to Proler Steel on July 25, 2012, and owner-financed the sale, but Proler and Leonard later fraudulently induced the president of Streamline to execute a release of lien. The complaint states the defendants then interfered with Streamline's business relationship with Proler, with Newport Metal being wrongfully granted a warranty deed with vendor's lien. The defendants are accused of fraud, trespass to try title, and tortious interference with contract.

Streamline seeks damages and judgment that the release of lien is void. It is represented by attorney Dallas J. Barrington of Roebuck, Thomas, Roebuck and Adams in Kountze.
