A Jefferson County business has sued a demolition company and its owner, alleging breach of contract in 2014.
Crenshaw Enterprises Ltd., doing business as Tiger Industrial Rentals of Beaumont, filed a lawsuit May 19 in Galveston County District Court against Bradley Demolition Construction and Edward L. Bradley of Friendswood, alleging breach of contract as of February 2014.
According to the complaint, the defendant periodically rented equipment from the plaintiff, agreeing to pay the rental rates, according to the suit. Crenshaw alleges: it supplied pumps and other machinery to Bradley Demolition in good working condition; that Bradley accepted and used the equipment; and that Bradley has failed and refused to pay the agreed rental charges, resulting in an overdue balance of at least $44,948.55.
The suit says Bradley has failed to pay its taxes as required by law and that Bradley Demolition Construction was dissolved Feb. 21, 2014. The complaint states state law holds Edward Bradley personally liable for the debt, and at least $37,168.08 of the debt was incurred after forfeiture of the company’s existence.
Crenshaw cites damages, breach of contract and liability based on tax forfeiture.
Crenshaw Enterprises seeks damages along with pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney fees, expenses and costs.
