A Galveston County resident filed a lawsuit against a motorist for damages sustained in a 2014 collision at an intersection in Galveston County that allegedly forced her vehicle to flip over.
Medina Bernstine filed a complaint against Kyle Michael Langley in Galveston County District Court on June 15, claiming vehicular negligence in a September 2014 accident.
According to the suit, the plaintiff was operating her vehicle northbound in the 1600 block of 18th Street on Sept. 12, 2014 when the defendant failed to stop at a stop sign and struck Bernstine’s vehicle on the passenger side with such force that it was caused to roll over.
The plaintiff alleges that the defendant breached his duty of care when he failed to keep a proper lookout, stop at a stop sign, keep a safe distance, and pay attention when he collided with her vehicle.
Bernstine claims past and future physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, impairment, physical disfigurement and medical expenses, including hospital costs.
The plaintiff seeks up to $100,000 in damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney’s fees, expenses, and costs.
