Jo Ann Thompson vs. E.I. Dupont de Nemours et al

The benefactor of a former Dupont De Nemours employee is suing the Jefferson County chemical plant, along with a dozen other oil corporations, for exposing the late Earl Dean Thompson to benzene while working at the plant for 60 years. Thompson died of multiple myeloma in 2006.

Brett Harrington vs. United Fire Lloyds

Property owners of 1075 Calder Ave. in Beaumont filed a civil suit against United Fire Lloyd's in Jefferson County District Court alleging the insurance company refuses to pay for damages caused by Hurricane Rita on Sept. 25, 2005.

Joseph Outlaw vs. Allstate Insurance Co.

Plaintiff argues that Allstate wrongfully denied coverage sustained to his home, which was covered under a homeowner's policy. Damages sustained are up to $75,000.

Dalila Sanchez vs. Patricio Sanchez

Dalila Sanchez, who may or may not be related to defendant Patricio Sanchez, has filed a personal injury suit after Patricio ran a stop sign and collided with another vehicle. Dalila was a passenger in the vehicle Patricio was driving. .

Patricia Morgan vs. Honda et al

In 2005, two 11-year-old girls were joy riding on a Honda ATV were struck by a pickup truck at the intersection of West Maine and Houston Street in China, Texas. Both girls were injured. Patricia Morgan, the mother of the one of the ATV passengers, has filed a lawsuit against the girl driving the four wheeler, her family, Honda and the ATV dealer.
