No time like the present to file suit

Wasting no time, the very same day Michael Leidy and his children where in automobile collision, he filed a lawsuit against Timmy King, the driver who hit him, and King's employer, Great Guns.

Leidy claims in his suit, filed June 28 with the Jefferson County District Court, that on June 28, 2007, he and his minor children were traveling north in the 2000 block of Martin Luther King Blvd. when King "failed to drive in a single lane and suddenly and violently struck" Leidy's vehicle.

The suit says King was "in the course and scope of his employment with Great Guns Corp." at the time of the incident.

Leidy and his children are suing for past and future physical pain, mental anguish, physical impairment and medical expenses.

The family is demanding a trial by jury and is represented by attorney Charlton Hornsby.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th Judicial District, has been assigned to the case.
