Markeshia Stagg has filed a personal injury lawsuit against Super Motel 8, alleging the motel allowed a duplicate key to her room to fall into the hands of several thugs, who easily waltzed into the room and assaulted her.
Her suit was filed with the Jefferson County Court at Law No. 1 on Nov. 29.
According to the plaintiff's petition, the incident occurred on Dec. 4, 2005 at the Super 8 on Interstate 10.
Stagg claims the motel was negligent for failing to safeguard her room and her from the intruders and for also allowing a duplicate key to fall into the hands of dubious people, the suit said.
She is suing for more than $100,000 and is represented by the Law Offices of Woodson E. Dryden.
Judge Alfred Gerson has been assigned to the case.
