Construction company seeks payment for metal roof

A Jefferson County construction company claims a Port Neches couple owes it more than $25,000 for a metal roof the company installed on their house.

Guseman Construction filed a lawsuit Nov. 13 in Jefferson County District Court against Whitney and Thomas H. Taylor.

Guseman claims it installed a metal roof at the Taylors' residence at 5420 Lana Lane in Groves.

"After all just and lawful offsets, credits and payments have been applied, there is a balance due and owing on the contract to Plaintiff from Defendant in the amount of $16,700 plus an additional $9,800 due to Plaintiff for extra work performed at Defendants request which Defendant now refuses to pay," the suit states.

In addition to the money it claims the Taylors' owe it, Guseman seeks pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.

Justin G. Sanderson and Wyatt D. Snider of Snider and Byrd in Beaumont will be representing them.

The case has been assigned to Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court.

Jefferson County District Court case number: E185-339.
