Latest hurricane-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County

A total of six new lawsuits against insurance companies over hurricane damage claims have been filed in Jefferson County District Court, Jan.18-22, 2010.

The following complaints were filed:

  • Bronkor Investments of 4925 West Cardinal Drive in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied its claim for business interruption caused to its company after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Bronkor will be represented by Rene M. Sigman of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston and by Michael R. Ramsey and Gregory F. Cox of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B185-778.

  • Emile McCarvy Jr. and Felicity McCarvy of Beaumont allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof, water, wind and structural damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The McCarvys will be represented by Gregory F. Cox of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E185-761.

  • Zadie Palmer of 3101 34th St. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for roof, water, wind, foundation and structural damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Jefferson County District Court case number: D185-762.

  • Zecharyah and Shelihah Sheayashub of 2258 Shirley St. in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof, water, wind, contents, foundation and structural damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Sheayashubs will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of the Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D185-740.

  • Consetta Wells and Raquel and Rodrick Joseph of 1387 Church St. in Beaumont allege National Lloyds Insurance Company denied their claim for roof, water, wind, foundation, structural and contents damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. National Lloyds denied the claim after it assigned Compass Adjusting Services Inc. and adjusters Debra Lin and Michael Vieregg to investigate. Wells and the Josephs will be represented by Gregory F. Cox of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont and by James R. Dunnam of Dunnam and Dunnam in Waco. Jefferson County District Court case number: E185-741.

  • Patricia Whiting of 4685 Doris St. in Beaumont alleges Travelers Lloyds of Texas Insurance Company denied her claim for roof, water, wind, foundation and structural damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Travelers Lloyds denied the claim after it assigned adjusters Brian Clark Smith and Novella Lynn Robinson to investigate. Whiting will be represented by Rene M. Sigman of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston and by Michael R. Ramsey and Gregory F. Cox of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A185-768.
