Latest hurricane-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County

A total of seven new lawsuits were filed against insurance companies over hurricane damage claims in Jefferson County District Court, Feb. 1-5, 2010.

The following complaints were filed:

  • Gregory and Tracy Breaux of 1185 Hillebrandt Road in Beaumont allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof, water, wind, contents, foundation and structural damages caused to their home after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.The Breauxs will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A185-858.

  • Steven and Melissa Crum of 2511 Ave. G in Nederland allege Fire Insurance Exchange denied their claim for roof, water, wind, foundation and structural damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Crums will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston and by Michael R. Ramsey and Gregory F. Cox of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A185-863.

  • Danny and Trisha Gonzales of 674 Birchwood Lane in Port Neches allege Standard Guaranty Insurance Company denied their claim for roof, water, wind and structural damages caused after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Standard denied their claim after it assigned adjuster David McBride to investigate, according to the complaint. The Gonzaleses will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D185-875.

  • Louis and Kitty Hebert of 5390 Gail Drive in Beaumont allege Farmers Insurance Exchange denied their claim for roof, water, wind and structural damages caused to their home after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Heberts will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: D185-862.

  • Park Meadows Townhouses Section Three of Park Meadow Drive in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association failed to properly adjust its claim and improperly paid the claim after its townhouses were damaged when Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Park Meadows will be represented by Wyatt D. Snider, Jason M. Byrd and Russell W. Heald of Snider and Byrd in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E185-851.

  • Allen and Jo Ann Root of 2220 27th St. in Nederland allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof, water, wind and structural damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Roots will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E185-874.

  • Henry Wright of 4320 Goliad St. in Beaumont alleges Capitol County Mutual Fire Insurance Company denied his claim for roof, water, wind, contents and structural damages caused after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Capitol denied the claim after it assigned ICA Adjusters and adjuster Douglas Browning to investigate. Wright will be represented by Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D185-876.
