Woman sues for medical costs after collision

A Beaumont woman claims she incurred medical costs after a driver slammed into her vehicle.

Cassie Cole filed a lawsuit Feb. 12 in Jefferson County District Court against Simon Pardo Jr. and Brian Dunigan.

Cole claims she drove on College Street on March 7, 2008, when Pardo, who drove a vehicle owned by Dunigan, failed to control his speed and slammed into her vehicle.

According to the complaint, Cole incurred medical costs, lost earnings and her earning capacity, sustained physical impairment and suffered physical pain because of the collision. In addition, she suffered mental anguish and incurred property damages, the suit states.

Cole blames Pardo for causing the accident, saying he failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to timely apply his brakes to avoid a collision and failed to maintain a clear distance between the vehicle he drove and Cole's.

Cole seeks an unspecified judgment, plus pre-judgment interest, costs and other relief to which she may be entitled.

Jonathan C. Juhan of Beaumont will be representing her.

The case has been assigned to Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court.

Jefferson County District Court case number: A185-927.
