A total of seven new lawsuits against insurance companies regarding hurricane damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, April 26-30, 2010.
The following complaints were filed:
Doris Cormier of 4218 Lansing Ave. in Port Arthur alleges State Farm Lloyds denied her claim for damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont will be representing her. Jefferson County District Court case number: A186-726.
Chester L. Gremillion Jr. of 4850 Rice Circle in Beaumont alleges Fire Insurance Exchange denied his claim for roof and other damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Gremillion will be represented by Paul A. Smith Jr. and Carlos E. Solis of Solis and Smith in San Antonio and by Danny R. Scott Jr. of the Law Office of Danny R. Scott Jr. in Beaumont. Lottie Gremillion of 4305 Park St. in Beaumont alleges Fire Insurance Exchange denied her claim roof and other water damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Michael McMahon of 2940 Spurlock Road in Nederland alleges State Farm Lloyds denied a portion of his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. McMahon claims State Farm Lloyds denied his claim after adjuster Paul Everling investigated it. McMahon will be represented by Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont. Mary V. Randle of 2565 Washington Blvd. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for roof and other damages caused to her home after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Virginia Wells of 2110 Wignall Ave. in Port Arthur alleges Standard Guaranty Insurance Company minimized her claim for damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Standard Guaranty Insurance Company minimized her claim after it assigned adjuster William Trahan to investigate, according to the complaint. John Pat Parsons of Beaumont will be representing Wells. Komika White of 555 Smelker St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for roof and other damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.
