Red-light runner sued over collision

A woman has filed suit against the driver she claims ran a red light and collided with her vehicle.

Sharon Wilson claims she was involved in an automobile collision with defendant Annette H. Lee on Nov. 10, 2009.

Because of the collision, Wilson experienced physical pain, suffering, mental anguish and physical impairment and incurred medical costs and property damages, according to the complaint filed May 7 in Jefferson County District Court.

Lee negligently ran a red light, failed to control her speed, failed to maintain a proper lookout, failed to timely apply her brakes, failed to drive in a safe manner and failed to maintain control of her vehicle, the suit states.

Wilson is seeking an unspecified judgment, plus costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and other relief to which she may be entitled.

Jon B. Burmeister of Moore Landrey in Beaumont will be representing her.

The case has been assigned to Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court.

Jefferson County District Court case number: B186-812.
