Woman sued for failing to repay bail bond

A Jefferson County bail bonding company claims a woman owes it more than $50,000.

Around the Clock Bail Bonding filed a lawsuit May 26 in Jefferson County District Court against Matilde Ahmed.

The bail bonder claims Ahmed defaulted on her agreement to indemnify it.

"There is currently owing to the Plaintiff the sum of at least $55,750 plus accrued interest as provided for in the agreeement," the suit states.

In addition to the money Around the Clock says Ahmed owes it, it seeks pre- and post-judgment interest, judgment of at least $1,000, costs and other relief to which it may be entitled.

Gaylyn Leon Cooper of Beaumont will be representing Around the Clock.

The case has been assigned to Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court.
