A Nederland woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims collided into her vehicle, causing her to sustain head, neck, leg and back injuries.
Paula Hall claims she was driving south on Highway 69 near its intersection with 39th Street on Jan. 13, 2009, when defendant Doris E. Miller struck her vehicle.
In addition to her injuries, Hall incurred medical costs; experienced mental anguish, physical pain, suffering, disability and physical impairment; and lost her enjoyment of life, according to the complaint filed June 23 in Jefferson County District Court.
Hall blames Miller for causing the collision, saying Miller negligently failed to maintain control of her vehicle, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to timely apply her brakes, drove in an unsafe manner, drove inattentively and followed Hall too closely.
In her complaint, Hall is seeking a judgment in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and other relief to which she may be entitled.
She will be represented by the Provost and Umphrey Law Firm in Beaumont.
