Latest hurricane-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County

A total of six new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims have been filed in Jefferson County District Court, July 26-30, 2010.

The following complaints have been filed:

  • Adam and Louanna Alfred of 538 10th St. in Port Arthur allege Fire Insurance Exchange denied their claim for roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Alfreds will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn and Stacy L. Little of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: E187-413.

  • Valetta Cartwright of 4455 Glen Oaks Circle in Beaumont alleges Texas Farm Bureau Underwriters denied her claim for roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Cartwright will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn and Stacy L. Little of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: A187-419.

  • Sheila Edwards of 1315 E. 10th St. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for roof, structural, water, foundation, contents and wind damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Edwards will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A187-427.

  • Exer Gardner of 2615 Willowick Drive in Port Arthur alleges State Farm Lloyds denied his claim for roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Gardner will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn and Stacy L. Little of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: E187-412.

  • David and Ericia Redmon of 3635 Augusta Drive in Beaumont allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof, water, wind, structural and contents damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Redmons will be represented by Gregory F. Cox of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A187-428.

  • Larry and Margaret Thorne of 1455 Infinity Lane in Beaumont allege Farmers Insurance Exchange denied their claim for contents, flood, structural, roof, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Thornes will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn and Stacy L. Little of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: A187-420.
