GALVESTON - Two female seamen have filed suit against their employer over injuries they reportedly sustained while working on the defendant's ships.
Kay Homer and Kami Myers's suit against NCL America Inc., filed Aug. 2 in Galveston County Court No. 2, alleges the Norwegian Dawn and the M/S Pride of America were not fit to be at sea since the vessels were improperly maintained which caused the plaintiffs' injuries.
Plaintiff Homer was aboard the Norwegian Dawn on Aug. 11, 2007, when she supposedly fell while performing a task.
While court papers are mum on the exact circumstances which led to the alleged incident, they claim Homer hurt her right knee, pelvis, and lower back.
Plaintiff Myers was assigned to the M/S Pride of America when on March 7, 2009, unspecified events resulted in her injuring her foot, neck, and back.
Both complainants insist they suffered mental anguish in addition to other medical problems.
Consequently, they seek monetary damages and a jury trial.
