Suit claims boss ran over employee in parking lot

GALVESTON - A Harris County man has filed a lawsuit which alleges his boss ran over him in the company parking lot.

Chae Hillman, an employee of Roy Moffitt Customized Fueling Inc. in Galveston, alleges his supervisor, Roy Moffitt, hit him with his car on Sept. 30, 2008.

The original complaint was filed Sept. 30 in Galveston County District Court.

Hillman states that he was walking through a parking lot when Moffitt "suddenly and without warning" struck him. The motorist was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the alleged incident, according to the suit.

Afterwards, the plaintiff was taken to the emergency room at the nearby University of Texas Medical Branch.

"Hillman received multiple serious injuries due to this accident," the suit says.

The suit faults Moffitt for failing to keep a proper lookout and failing to yield to the plaintiff.

Hillman seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by attorney Richard D. Raymond of Houston.

The case has been assigned to Galveston County 56th District Court Judge Lonnie Cox.
