GALVESTON - A Galveston man is suing Ford Motor Co. over a reportedly defective vehicle.
Emmanuel Kastis insists the defendant failed to fix his 2008 Ford F-650 despite having taken the vehicle in for repairs about 10 times.
According to a lawsuit filed Oct. 12 in Galveston County District Court, Kastis bought the vehicle for $65,000 in April 2008.
The original complaint explains that the plaintiff "has had numerous problems" with the truck. Kastis says the vehicle encountered "an excessive number of defects including but not limited to the fuel injectors, blowing smoke, turbo and low power."
The truck has spent approximately 80 days in the shop and still has problems, the suit states.
Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages to cover repair costs, out-of-pocket expenses and losses of use, income, and profits as well as a jury trial.
Attorney Craig M. Patrick of Dallas is representing the plaintiff, and Galveston County 56th District Court Judge Lonnie Cox is presiding over the case.
