Beaumont resident Chad Thomas recently filed suit against Ford Motor Co. and Pollard Ford claiming his 2008 Ford F-250 is a $46,300 lemon.
The suit was filed Oct. 14 in Jefferson County District Court.
Court papers show Thomas purchased the truck March 21, 2008, for approximately $46,300 from Pollard Ford in Bastrop.
"Plaintiff has had numerous problems with the vehicle," the suit states. "Since purchase, the vehicle has encountered an excessive number of defects, including low power, transmission, steering, vibration, coolant leaks and blowing smoke."
In his suit, Thomas says the truck has been in the shop at least seven times and still has problems to this day.
He is suing the defendants under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
Thomas is seeking actual and consequential damages.
He is represented by Dallas attorney Craig Patrick.
Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.
