Beaumont woman sues M&D Ace after Co2 canister explodes

Beaumont resident Linda Chaison claims a canister of carbon dioxide she purchased from a hardware store exploded in the parking lot.

Alleging the merchandise was faulty, Chaison filed suit against M&D Ace Partners on Dec. 13 in Orange County District Court.

According to her suit, Chaison purchased the canister on Dec. 13, 2008, at the Ace store in Vidor.

"As she was placing the Co2 Canister in her vehicle, it suddenly and without warning exploded, injuring Chaison," the suit states, adding that Ace negligently failed to inspect and maintain its merchandise.

The suit does not describe Chaison's injuries.

She is suing for her alleged past and future mental anguish, physical pain and medical expenses.

Chaison is represented by Beaumont attorney Barrett Lindsay.

Judge Buddy Hahn, 260th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
