Insurer sues couple who crashed into policyholder's house

GALVESTON State Farm Lloyds has filed suit against Evangalina Rodriguez and Markese Jarode Donahue of Dickinson over an auto accident last year which reportedly inflicted damage to a policyholder's residence.

According to the lawsuit filed Dec. 27 in Galveston County Court at Law No. 2, defendant Donahue drove Rodriguez's 2004 Ford F150 pickup truck into the front yard of Henry King in Dickinson on June 5.

Donahue allegedly struck two parked vehicles then fled the scene prior to the incident in question, the original petition says.

The insurer argues that the motorist damaged King's fence, yard and other personal possessions within and surrounding the property.

It faults Donahue for failing to control his speed as well as not paying attention to the road while Rodriguez is blamed for negligently entrusting the truck to him.

The plaintiff consequently seeks about $4,000 in monetary damages.

It is represented by Hearne & Schuble.

Galveston County Court at Law No. 2 Judge Barbara Roberts is presiding over the case.
