Wells Fargo Bank National Association has filed suit against Beaumont resident Thomas Cantue, alleging the man has defaulted on a promissory note.

The suit was filed Jan. 10 in Jefferson County District Court.

Court records show the parties executed a promissory note on Dec. 1, 2006, for a piece of property in Jefferson County.

As of Dec. 13, Cantue has defaulted on the loan and currently owes the bank $241,584.11. The note is also bearing interest on the outstanding principal balance at 8.5 percent.
