Deliveryman claims he was mauled by pit bull

A package deliveryman claims a "vicious pit bull" attacked him nearly two years ago.

Tony Alexander filed suit against the dog's owner, Denise Hunter, on Jan. 31 in Jefferson County District Court.

Court records show that on Jan. 30, 2008, Alexander was attempting to deliver a package to 3320 Redwood Drive in Beaumont "when he was attacked and bitten by this vicious pit bull."

Alexander claims Hunter negligently failed to secure the premises so the "pit bull could not get loose to attack persons like plaintiff," according to the complaint.

He is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages.

Beaumont attorney Charlton Hornsby represents him.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
