Couple sues insurer for not paying for daughter's injuries

An Orange County couple has filed suit against its insurance agency, which allegedly has refused to pay for injuries their minor daughter sustained during a collision.

Carl and Connie Jackson claim Carl Jackson was driving in Jefferson County on Aug. 11, 2009, when his vehicle was struck by Teresa Clark.

During the collision, minor plaintiff Chelsey Jackson was riding as a passenger and sustained injuries, according to the complaint filed Jan. 27 in Jefferson County District Court.

Chelsey Jackson's injuries should have been protected under Carl and Connie Jacksons' insurance policy with Allstate County Mutual Insurance Co., the suit states. However, Allstate has failed to pay the Jacksons sufficient money for the damages they incurred, the complaint says.

In their complaint, the Jacksons are seeking a judgment within the jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court.

David Starnes of Beaumont will be representing them.

The case has been assigned to Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court.
