Consulting firm accused of paying employees straight time for overtime work

SHERMAN - A management and technology consulting firm is accused of violating federal law by only paying their employees straight time wages for overtime work.

Geary Hooper and Frank Blazejewski, on behalf of themselves and all others similarly situated, filed suit against Carlisle & Gallagher Consulting Group Inc. doing business as CG Technology Inc. and CG Consulting Group Inc. on Feb. 16 in the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division.

The defendant provides personnel and services for financial services organizations and generally assigns its employees to work at client locations.

Hooper and Blazejewski were employed as hourly-paid consultants to provide financial data support services and customer service support for Bank of America.

The defendants are accused of knowingly failing to pay wages in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. Specifically, the defendants paid their consultants, analysts, business analysts, and customer advocates on an hourly basis and paid them straight time wages for overtime work and were not paid overtime wages for their actual hours of work.

The former employees are seeking an award of unpaid back wages, liquidated damages, court costs, attorney's fees and interest.

The plaintiffs are represented by J. Derek Braziel and Meredith Mathews of Lee & Braziel in Dallas. A jury trial is requested.

U.S. District Judge Michael H. Schneider is assigned to the case.
