Latest Hurricane Ike-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County

A total of three new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, April 4-8, 2011.

The following complaints were filed:

Wayne and Kim Bernard of 835 Thomas Blvd. in Port Arthur allege Farmers Insurance Exchange denied their claim for roof and water damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Bernards will be represented by Paul A. Smith Jr. and Carlos E. Solis of Solis and Smith in San Antonio and by Danny R. Scott Jr. of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D189-723.

Frances Kinchen of 2737 17th St. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for contents, foundation, structure, roof, water and wind damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Kinchen will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D189-718.

Horace Terry Jr. of 4865 Bolivar St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for roof and water damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Terry will be represented by Paul A. Smith Jr. and Carlos E. Solis of Solis and Smith in San Antonio and by Danny R. Scott Jr. of the Law Office of Danny R. Scott Jr. in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A189-726.
