Employee injured while moving stove sues Timberlake Courts Apartments

Timberlake Courts Apartments

Sour Lake resident Carol Garner has filed suit against Timberlake Courts Apartments, alleging she was injured while moving a stove two years ago.

Claiming her employer negligently failed to provide her with help to complete the "arduous task," Garner filed her suit April 29 in Jefferson County District Court. Brian Becker, Ruben Becker and Ralph Chisolm are also defendants named in the suit.

According to her lawsuit, on May 7, 2009, Garner was working in the course and scope for the Beaumont apartment complex when she "was severely injured while attempting to move a stove per the instructions of her supervisor."

"Additionally, plaintiff was provided no assistance with this arduous task," the suit states.

The suit does not state how Garner was injured.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Jonathan Juhan represents her.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.
