Beaumont woman claims contractors misled her

Patricia Door has filed suit against several contractors, alleging she was misled and swindled out of $200,000.

The suit was filed May 17 in Jefferson County District Court. The defendants named in the suit include Joseph Gentile, Robin Jones, John Ayala, Richard Clifford and D&S Lacy Enterprises.

Court records show that Door hired the defendants in September 2008 to make repairs to her Beaumont home.

In her suit, Door claims the defendants took advantage of her ignorance and tricked her into paying for their hotel rooms and other unnecessary expenditures.

By the fall of 2010, the home projects were still not completed and the defendants were still billing Door, the suit states.

To date, Door claims that she has paid the defendants $200,000.

The suit accuses the defendants of breaching their contract and committing fraud.

Door is suing for economic damages and all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Cade Bernsen represents the plaintiff.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, has been assigned to the case.
