Beaumont man claims multiple injuries from auto wreck

A Beaumont man claims he sustained severe neck, lower back, chest wall, wrist and right knee pain after a driver rear-ended his vehicle.

Allen Bush filed a lawsuit May 26 in Jefferson County District Court against Raechell and Robert L. Thomas.

Bush claims she drove on Delaware on June 3, 2009, and was making a left-hand turn onto Renaud when Raechell Thomas, who drove a vehicle owned by Robert Thomas, failed to control her speed and slammed into the rear of Bush.

Because of the collision, Bush incurred medical costs; lost earnings and her earning capacity; and sustained physical impairment, physical pain and mental anguish, according to the complaint.

Bush blames Raechell Thomas for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to timely apply her brakes and failed to control her speed.

In addition, Raechell Thomas failed to keep a safe distance between her vehicle and Bush's, the suit states.

In her complaint, Bush seeks and unspecified judgment, plus pre-judgment interest, costs and other relief to which she may be entitled.

Jonathan C. Juhan of Beaumont will be representing her.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
