Latest Hurricane Ike-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County

A total of eight new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, June 13-17, 2011.

The following complaints were filed:

  • Jerome and Leatrice Anderson of 9730 Gross St. in Beaumont allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of their claim for roof and water damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Andersons will be represented by Paul A. Smith Jr. and Carlos E. Solis of Solis and Smith in San Antonio and by Danny R. Scott Jr. of the Law Office of Danny R. Scott Jr. in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E190-255.

  • Gonzolo and Lucila Cardenas of 3015 Eighth St. in Port Arthur allege Farmers Insurance Exchange, Texas Farmers Insurance Company and Fire Insurance Exchange denied their claim for roof and water damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Cardenas will be represented by Danny R. Scott Jr. of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B190-302.

  • William Deadmon III and Bridget Deadmon of 4104 Cobblestone Lane in Port Arthur allege Farmers Insurance Exchange, Texas Farmers Insurance Company and Fire Insurance Exchange denied their claim for roof and water damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Deadmons will be represented by Danny R. Scott Jr. of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B190-301.

  • Terry and Donna James of 3325 Thomas Blvd. In Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of their claim for roof and water damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The James will be represented by Carlos E. Solis and Paul A. Smith Jr. of Solis and Smith in San Antonio and by Danny R. Scott Jr. of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D190-250.

  • Darrel Martin Sr. and Mira Martin of 2399 Lavender St. in Port Arthur allege Farmers Insurance Exchange minimized their claim for wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Farmers minimized the claim after adjusters Catastrophe Response Team and Seann Clifford were assigned to investigate, according to the complaint. The Martins will be represented by John Pat Parsons of Lindsay, Lindsay and Parsons in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E190-239.

  • New Hope Baptist Church of 549 W. Gulfway Drive in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of their claim for roof and water damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The church will be represented by Paul A. Smith Jr. and by Carlos E. Solis of Solis and Smith in San Antonio and by Danny R. Scott Jr. of the Law Office of Danny R. Scott Jr. in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D190-251.

  • Troy and Hester Scott of 676 Euclid St. in Beaumont allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of their claim for roof and water damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Scotts will be represented by Carlos E. Solis and Paul A. Smith Jr. of Solis and Smith in San Antonio and by Danny R. Scott Jr. of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B190-253.

  • Donald and Debbie Simmons of 3819 Amherst St. in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of their claim for roof and water damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Simmons will be represented by Carlos E. Solis and Paul A. Smith Jr. of Solis and Smith in San Antonio and by Danny R. Scott Jr. of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A190-248.
