Orange resident Shawn Flemin has filed suit against Robert Land, a Kountze resident, for allegedly rear-ending him two years ago.
The suit was filed Aug. 22 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on Nov. 13, 2009, Flemin was traveling north on the Eastex Freeway and stopped for traffic when Land rear-ended him.
The suit accuses Land of negligently traveling at excessive speeds, failing to keep a proper lookout and failing to apply his brakes in a timely manner.
The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.
Beaumont attorney Clint Basher represents him.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
